Joshua Vergara, Joe Hindy, Jonathan Feist and David Imel are joined by an all new personality on the show, from our very own SoundGuys.com, Adam Molina. In addition, talk about apps and gaming gets surprised laughs that a prominent pop star is now a character in Final Fantasy, and we learn that Andy Rubin, one of the fathers of Android, is off working on a new phone project.

Stay tuned for a brand new show format coming soon, we want to get you, our faithful listeners, readers and viewers more involved in the show, and we think we have a solution.

CES is over, what will Alexa conquer next | Podcast 095

0

Welcome to the first normal episode of the Android Authority Podcast in 2017! Hosted by Joshua Vergara, Jonathan Feist and David Imel ask Joe Hindy what he thought of CES 2017, enjoying his valuable outsider’s perspective. I’m not sure we’ve had the chance to mention this yet (I’m joking!) but CES seemed to be all about autonomous cars and AI technology – but really, Amazon’s Alexa was the star of the show, made available to hundreds of devices and services found on the show floor.

Stay tuned for a brand new show format coming soon, we want to get you, our faithful listeners, readers and viewers more involved in the show, and we think we have a solution.

CES 2017 Podcast extravaganza!

0

It’s CES 2017 and we’re in Las Vegas for the show! Joshua Vergara leads the way through several episodes of our daily podcasting efforts from the show, and there is more than enough to talk about. Jonathan Feist, David Imel, Edgar Cervantes and more from Android Authority are joined by guests from all over, including Nicole Scott (@nicole_scooter), Jaime Rivera (@jaime_rivera), Juan Carlos Bagnell (@SomeGadgetGuy), Hayato Huseman (@hayatohuseman), Stephen Schenck (@stephanschenk) Patrick Norton (@paricknorton) and more.

Keeping on the topic of CES and technology, mostly, spirited conversations turn to laughs as inside jokes roll freely. There are many great things at CES this year, from Bluetooth tech to Alexa to autonomous cars, a few phones, Alexa, some great laptops and gaming rigs, and, did I mention Amazon’s Alexa? We don’t say this often, Google, through Google Assistant and Android, has some serious catch up to do.

CES 2017 Podcast #1

We’re back at CES 2017 with the first in a series of daily podcasts hosted by Joshua Vergara! In this first episode, recorded right on the floor of Pepcom Digital Experience in the Mirage hotel, Josh is joined by AA team members Edgar, Jonathan, and David with a bunch of special guests!

Nicole Scott of MobileGeeks, Hayato Huseman with PocketNow, Myriam Joire, and Stephen Schenck of PhoneArena, and a couple of new faces all come together for a discussion-heavy, tangent-riddled, and fun podcast that dives into a lot of the tech that we have been able to see in Las Vegas so far for CES 2017!

CES 2017 Podcast #2

Josh is joined by Jonathan Feist and David Imel as they collectively welcome two of Pocketnow’s best, Jaime Rivera and Juan Bagnell. Discussions range from tacos to wearables to a couple Android phones right back to tacos in this really fun second edition of the CES 2017 series!

CES 2017 Podcast #3

Josh sits down with one of the first people that got him into technology – the great Patrick Norton of TekThing and classic TechTV days. They sit down to talk about CES and Patrick goes off about how much he loves music and audio, all in front of the gondola rides of the Venetian Las Vegas.

Unfortunately, the camera cuts out at around the 3 minute mark, but we still uploaded this great episode of the podcast for your listening pleasure. Enjoy this podcast with Patrick Norton!

In this edition of the Android Authority Podcast, Joshua Vergara is joined by Jonathan Feist, Joe Hindy and David Imel, with more stories of global travel and bad weather. Topics of the week included further discussion on Android Wear, at least on wearables in general, before diving into fitness trackers and smart watches – do you sense a theme? Finally, we talk about Android keyboards, following the update of Google Keyboard to the new GBoard, which leads us to ask if the basic apps that we have on deck today are enough, or is there room for a new powerhouse app, like Tasker was in its day?

Pebble in the ocean | Podcast 091

In this edition of the Android Authority Podcast, Joshua Vergara is joined by Jonathan Feist, Joe Hindy, and a returning Nirave Gondhia (happy belated birthday!) as they get together to talk about two of the main topics of the week – rumors that surround the Samsung Galaxy S8 and its potential omission of the headphone jack, and the dissolving of Pebble as a company when fitness tracking company Fitbit bought many of its assets. There is plenty to talk about here as Josh gives his thoughts on Pebble as a company and product that he loves and the gang talks about what they think about smartwatches and, in particular, Android Wear.

DJI & LA Auto Show | Podcast Special

0

Joshua Vergara and Jonathan Feist are hanging out in LA, taking in the LA Auto Show, or at least Automobility LA, the press version of the show, and the immensely entertaining launch event for the DJI Inspire 2 and Phantom 4 Pro drones. Joined by special guest Nicole Scott (@Nicole_Scooter) the conversation started with the cars of the car show, followed by Hyperloop One and our thoughts on outdated Android tech in modern cars. Don’t worry, we have Android stuff to talk about thanks to Joe and David

DJI was a major event for us, reporting the new Phantom 4 Pro and Inspire 2 on our partner site, Charged.io. With full Hollywood style theatrics, and a price tag to match, these are some impressive drones. Having said that, Josh and Jonathan were invited to a press event for the DJI Mavic Pro for the day after recording this show. Writing this up after the fact, stay tuned for our Mavic Pro coverage!

While half the team was at play, Joe Hindy led the charge with David Imel back at home, recording an informative take on the news of the week. A decent check-in turns to thew OnePlus 3T, now that it’s official, the Snapdragon 835 and how Google and Facebook plan to do away with fake news.

The no Joe show! | Podcast 088

0

Joshua Vergara does his best to keep the team in line, while Jonathan Feist experiences internet issues and Lahn Nguyen and David Imel keep us entertained. Another informative episode of the Android Authority Podcast is in the bag, with no Joe. After checking in with our avoidance of the election topic and some laptop issues, we dive into high-priced phones. The Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 reminds us of other expensive brands, leading us to think of products in a theoretical financed world, an exploration of consumerism.

Self exploration continues as we talk the upcoming OnePlus 3T, dreaming of what we want to see in the new device, remembering what the original OnePlus offered. Finally, we close out the show with a chat on Google Home, Google Assistant and Google Daydream VR.
