Deepika Padukone: Padmavati Is Going To Be Extremely Difficult, But I’m Ready!

Deepika Padukone, who has completed nine years in Bollywood, feels she has just started in the film industry and says she is ready for bigger challenges like Padmavati.

“I don’t feel like I have completed nine years. I feel like I have just started off. I feel like I have a lot more to give. I feel like I am ready for even more challenging roles and films. And I am excited about one of those experiences because ‘Padmavati‘ is going to be extremely difficult,” Deepika said.

“But I think I’m ready for that experience and that journey,” Deepika added, speaking at the red carpet for Lux Golden Rose Awards on Saturday night.

The “Bajirao Mastani” star was also happy to talk about her debut film “Om Shanti Om” being made into a Japanese musical.

“They are making it into a play and the Japanese people loved Shantipriya (her role in the movie). The premiere of the musical is going to be in July next year. Most probably, Farah Khan and I would be going together for that,” she said.

The group of assistant directors who worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Saawariya wanted to show their support and encouragement and surprised him by showing up on the sets.

Says a source, ” Sanjay Leela Bhansali was extremely touched and overwhelmed when he saw them on the sets. They wanted to come and wish him luck in person as soon as they heard that Padmavati went on floors. Bhansali has been like a mentor to them and they owe everything they’ve learnt to him. Very few people know the filmmaker personally and those who do truly love him – On the sets Bhansali always ensures that his crew is well looked after and are treated to the most lavish food .He is very protective of his team and constantly encourages them to do their best .”

 Padmavati is slated to release on 17th November, 2017.
