This smartphone tripod is the size of a credit card

Sure, it’s great that you have all these smartphone accessories, but how portable are they really? You’ve got to plan ahead if you’re going to be hauling along a selfie stick or – God forbid – an actual tripod.

That’s what makes Pocket Tripod such an elegant solution. You can literally just slip it into your pocket and forget about it until you need it.

It’s an idea that’s so natural and obvious that even Steve Wozniak was smacking his forehead over it:

Why didn’t someone do this before… What a great idea that I wish I’d thought of. I put one of them in my backpack so it’s always with me… Great project. Never would have come about without a great deal of creativity and desire to do something different… I never had thought that something like that could be done.

The Pocket Tripod is exactly what it sounds like. The durable construction and clever ‘unfolding’ capability means you can have it on your person at all times, easily within reach for those unexpectedly photogenic moments.

It transforms from a credit-card-like shape into a tripod with a simple twist and flip action and can sweet 90 degrees from four different mounted positions, landscape or horizontal.

Pocket Tripod started as a crowdfunded project, and the concept received an enthusiastic response. The creators actually funded about twice as much as their campaign goal.

Normally you might expect to pay as much as $104 for a quality smartphone tripod. Hell, if you’re really willing to break the bank, some are going for as much as $550.

This smartphone tripod is the size of a credit card

Pocket Tripod only costs $25 normally, but the company is currently having a sale that knocks 20% off that. If you’re looking for an ideal stocking stuffer or a nice gift for yourself this holiday season, look no further!

Click the button below to grab your own Pocket Tripod for just $19.99, and stop letting those photographic moments go to waste!

Items which can be exchanged there include phone cases for between 6 and 15 points and a 128 GB OnePlus 3T for those you manage to amass 300 points (for clarity, that means 300 people must complete the Entry Challenge through links you post.)

The prize shop is open 12 – 6pm (IST) on every Friday in December (9, 16, 23, 30) but items seen there may have limited stock. For the full rules and conditions of the December Dash, head over to OnePlus.com.

Deal: Complete Computer Science Bundle 89% off

0

The AAPicks team writes about things we think you’ll like, and we may see a share of revenue from any purchases made through affiliate links.

Deal: 8 Computer Science Kits for $39 ($367 separately)

Ready for a hard dose of reality?

Your degree doesn’t matter in the real world.

You might hack your way through a four-year degree in Computer Science and then burst upon the tech scene expecting your piece of paper to open all sorts of doors, and to a small extent that’s true. But really, nobody cares about your degree.

They only care about what you’re capable of.

I’ve got a friend who went to seven years of college. When he finally graduated with two degrees, he started trying to find a job coding in Seattle. To his dismay, he learned that some of his former peers were already pulling down six figures.

These guys hadn’t even gone to college; they’d just started coding right out of high school.

People are getting increasingly suspicious of the value of a formal education. The frustrating reality for many is that they’re ending up tens of thousands of dollars in student loan debt with no competitive edge over those who took simple internet courses and got to work.

Even though they aren’t on the scale of college tuition, quality online courses can still be pretty pricey. Fortunately, instructors frequently bundle courses together to increase enrollment. For the next three days, one such bundle of 8 Computer Science kits is going for less than the cost of one.

The Complete Computer Science Bundle features some of the most popular courses provided by From 0 to 1 and Byte Sized Chunks. If you were to fork over cash for these courses individually, you’d wind up paying over $360. From now through the weekend, though, you can grab all of them for just $39.

Here’s what you get:

Ready to learn how to code? The cost of entry has never been lower. Start making your dream career come true without ending up under the thumb of Sallie Mae. Click the button below for the full details!
