Aamir’s Dangal Song ‘Haanikarak Bapu’ Runs Into Trouble With An NGO

Aamir Khan’s Dangal trailer received a lot of positive responses from the audience. The film’s first song, Haanikarak Bapu, instantly became a rage for aptly portraying the complex father-daughter relationship between Aamir’s character of Mahavir Phoghat and his young daughters.

Sadly, the song has gone into trouble with Vishwatmak Samajik Seva Trust, an NGO who are now holding a silent protest against it.

President of the trust  has asked the makers to drop the word ‘Bapu’ from it since it tarnishes the image of Mahatma Gandhi, who was lovingly addressed as Bapu by the people of the nation.

According to reports, the NGO did send a request to Aamir Khan but did not receive any reply on the same and hence have now chosen to hold a silent request.

Dangal has been directed by Nitesh Tiwari and is slated to release on 23rd December,2016.

Relived Childhood With Aamir Khan’s Haanikaarak Bapu: Geeta & Babita Phogat

The well received song “Haanikaarak Bapu” from Aamir Khan’s much awaited film “Dangal” has been a nostalgic ride for Geeta and Babita Phogat as they say it reminded them of their childhood days.

While Geeta and Babita Phogat identified very well with the song, they also had a laugh riot while watching the song with their father.

The Phogat sisters share: “After seeing the song, we literally relived our childhood. We felt all of this is actually happening with us again, our training, the way our father used to shout at us, etc.”

“We really enjoyed watching the song. Aamir Khan has put in a lot of hard work and has correctly replicated our father,” they said.

Aamir Khan released the first song of his film “Dangal” — “Haanikaarak Bapu” on Children’s Day.

Featuring child actors Zaira Wasim and Suhani Bhatnagar as the protagonists and Aamir Khan as the antagonist, “Haanikaarak Bapu” wittily summarises the training journey of the wrestlers Geeta and Babita Phogat under their staunch father and trainer, Mahavir Singh Phogat.

The song showcases the prolonged rigorous training sessions undergone by Geeta and Babita Phogat on the behest of their father Mahavir Singh Phogat, where they were seen working out hard and facing the wrath of their father, who is shown to be extremely strict with them in their training.

“Dangal”, produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao & Siddharth Roy Kapur under Disney and Aamir Khan Productions, is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and is slated to release on December 23, 2016.

We Should Not See Demonetisation’s Short Term Impact: Aamir Khan

Actor Aamir Khan has supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to demonetise Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes. He says the country’s interest comes before anything including the release of his film “Dangal“.

Asked if the decision might impact “Dangal” release, Aamir said: “It is more important to agree with what is good for nation. We should not see it’s short term impact. What is necessary for the country needs to be done. If my film is getting affected, it is a small thing.”

Aamir expressed his views about the move at the song launch of the film here on Saturday.

We should not see demonetisation’s short term impact: Aamir Khan

Nitesh Tiwari’s film sees Aamir portraying the role of Mahavir Singh Phogat, who taught wrestling to his daughters Babita Kumari and Geeta Phogat. Geeta was India’s first female wrestler to win at the 2010 Commonwealth Games where she clinched the gold medal while Babita won the silver.

Aamir plays both the younger and older characters of Phogat in the film. “Dangal” is scheduled to release on December 23.

Tiwari also said that “it is bound to affect certain things and help certain things. We should see it’s larger picture”.

Talking about his film, Aamir said: “The central thought of the film is that a girl is no lesser than a boy. The message of the film is that we should not create a difference between girls and boys.”
